Throw (投げ Nage) is an act of grabbing an opponent, and throwing them. Players are able to throw the opponent while blocking, or while the opponent is taking damage. To use, press B+C simultaneously to throw forward, or back + B+C to throw backwards. The same applies for throws executed in midair.
Throws cannot be blocked, but can be escaped using what’s known as a Throw Escape (投げ抜け Nage Nuke). The Player must hit B+C simultaneously when thrown to execute a Throw Escape. Upon a successful throw, a green or purple “!” will appear above the victim’s head. The green throw has a much smaller window to escape, whereas the purple one has a much more generous window.
Throw Counter (スローカウンター Surō Kauntā) is a Counter Hit as a result of a throw. Similar to normal counter hits, if the throw is initiated between the start of an attack until its active frames, it will register as a counter. With a throw counter, there will be a “!” mark above the opponent’s head, with an “x” through it. This means the opponent cannot escape the throw.
Throw Reject Miss (スローリジェクトミス Surō Rijekuto Misu) occurs when someone fails to escape a throw with precise timing. Throw escapes must be input immediately after the opponent throws the player — if this window is missed, then the action will result in a Throw Reject Miss. When a Throw Reject Miss occurs, a “!” mark above the opponent’s head, with an “x” through it. This means the opponent cannot escape the throw.
