  • I'm not sure if this an Xbox only problem, are you having trouble accessing CPE's ranked matches? All I'm getting are error messages. I would post this on CP's discussion board, but something is preventing me from doing that

    • Well, I kinda like Abyss, seems fun to me. Besides, those risque artworks can be downloaded to your PC/phone from the internet, they were ripped a long time ago, and you don't need multicolored Jins since Rankeds are down, right?

        Loading editor
    • Yeah, but I'm a bit of a completionist (although there's no way in hell I'm able to get the Score Attack's artworks). Ranked matches are still down, so I guess my only option now is to take the loss and grind in Abyss mode

  • Hey, member of Dustloop here. Was asking about Central Fiction sprites to use on the wiki and Night Vision pointed here. Mind telling me where I can find them? Sir Rouzel is taking a while on his end, and I'd like to make the wiki look nice as soon as possible.

      Loading editor
    • Is it so important that you're from dustloop? Why do you feel the need to tell everyone that you come from a dead forum?

Night pointed you exactly to the place where you can get them, why are you bothering me?

And it's not like your dustloop wiki needs the sprites so badly, it looks okay with screenshots.

        Loading editor
    • I don't feel its important, I was just giving context. If I said "I want the sprites can you give them to me", you'd have probably asked why some random asshole would bother you for BlazBlue sprites.

Rouzel has a good amount of them up right now, but he's mentioned that its difficult to get the DLC characters. I noticed you guys have some of the DLC characters so I asked the guy who posted them, who in turn pointed me to you. do you have them?

And I want to replace the screenshots for the same reason this wiki did: it looks a lot nicer when the moves you are looking at don't have a bunch of random crap in the background.

    • If someone shows up here, of all places, it already means they really need whatever they're asking for.

Night Vision is not a guy, she's a woman. If you'd bothered to take a look at her profile page, you'd know that.

Last time I checked, the arcade build with DLC characters was not released yet. Console version sprites are still unrippable. Wait like everyone else does.

  • Alright then, what do you want?!

I've replied somewhat on this and I haven't even bothered to do anymore translation edits

If you want me to say sorry then I have no [redacted] idea how; are you even in the phase of "even if he says sorry I'm not going to forgive this shameful [redacted]"

I've been paranoid waiting for other actions for almost a day

Are you going to ban me or something or not?! Or do I have to put up a very bad unacceptable apology due to you being very [redacted] mad with me?! Have I messed up that badly?

I'm not even sure if you'll believe me saying those words bothered throughout my [redacted] day enough for me to do anything on this wiki at all (of course you won't; you won't forgive me at all)

(Ha, like hell I can even convince you that I'm sorry; most likely you're going to ask Night to ban me on the spot)

  • She likes him b/c he gave her food in Alter Memory. Watch episode 1 for my proof

      Loading editor
    • Then she also likes Litchi, Bang, Carl, Noel, Hibiki, and a ton of other people. If there is something that makes Tao like Ragna more than others, then you add him there. Your "proof" only proves that Tao likes food.

        Loading editor
    • So no people then?

        Loading editor
    • Unless someone's profile explicitly states that they like/hate a certain person, it's best to not add people, since it's too subjective. For example, you only watched anime, and you think that Jin hates Ragna, while games and novels prove that Jin actually cares about his brother... maybe even cares too much.

  • What happened to Crimera?

    Just asking :3

      Loading editor
    • Well, long story short, she moved from Wikia to another wiki-hosting (Main Page, "Languages" box at the bottom, first link that says "Русский") and disabled her account. But she left me, her clone, to help Night with this wiki.

  • for me it's something never touched upon in the games "you specifically mentioned that ingnis core is similar to a Archenemy" it is but i was under the impression Observation was only involved with Murakumo and Lux Sanctus.

      Loading editor
    • From the Library Mode:

      Artificial Identity
An identity that smelts a Nox Nyctores(Archenemy) within the Boundary. This forms the core allowing a Nox Nyctores(Archenemy) to Observe itself, and further establish its own existence.

So all Archenemies with cores have pseudo-identities which allow them to Observe themself to be stronger.

As for Murakumos, I don't think it was explicitly said whether they can Observe, but a Kusanagi, the perfect Prime Field, is definitely a powerful Observer.

  • This is the only place where I can whine about this thing, so I will do it because I can.

First, BlazBlue Wiki has a bad reputation. I don't know when it started or why, but everyone's acting like "the wiki is terrible" or "the wiki is always wrong". Basically, everyone claim that the wiki is not a legit information source, and discourage people from visiting us. I'm already used to that sort of treatment. This is what made me stop caring about people, and the only thing I care about now is content.

But now things are different. Now we switched from localized terms to translated, and I already saw several people going like "this is just more confusing, wikis are supposed to clear up the confusion!". Oh, but what about us being, idk, terrible and wrong? Who cares about switching to translations if everything we have here is wrong anyway? Or are they wrong, and we are actually a good source of information?

Can someone help me with this? I'm a little confused about why would anyone care about the use of translations if we are always wrong, according to what everyone else says.

    • >While we haven't even updated the CF portions of characters

Do you even know what a wiki is? It is a project that everyone can edit. Not just admins, whose job is actually to deal with vandals. Not just mods, whose job is to moderate others' edits. Everyone. But somehow everyone expects that me and Night should do everything here. If it is so, then maybe you shouldn't protest about the change? After all, if you are fine with us two being the only editors, then you should also be fine with our edits.

      >And simply just adopt japanese terms because they sound better to "us"

      For the umpteenth time:

      • Localization has several terms for one thing.
      • Localization has one term for several things.
      • Localization sometimes is plainly wrong.
      • Localization makes you miss connections between certain terms.

You want examples? I have them. I was actually going to post them, but buggy wikia ate my original message.

      >and you wonder why no one comes here

No one? Night, can you please post our visitor statistics for this week?
Yes, here you go! 「Night Vision」 (message wall)

      >Because the admins are hostile as possible, and so are the mods

Said someone who was active in 2012. Just look at this: someone makes a wrong edit. Speculation, or something like that. You revert that. You write them "Please don't do that anymore, you're breaking the rules". They don't listen. They do a bad edit again, and you have to revert it again. You repeat that message. They ignore it. They do it again. And you have to revert their bullshit again. And the only way to make them stop doing harmful edits is to tell them that they are an ignorant idiot who has to learn to read first before they try to edit something again. Only then they understand. I was much nicer before, but it didn't work. It works when I am harsh, rude and overbearing. Then so be it.

      >Especially when they have valid points

Look at thread that Rawgna started. She explained why she thinks the translations should be reverted, I addressed every point she made, she thought about it from a different point of view, and while she doesn't fully approve, she understands why the change is needed. Now look at Eryops' posts. He constantly says that "people are too used to localizations" and "you can't expect them to look up everything". I understand that, but the change is needed, so I tried to find a compromise, here. Eryops said that "it's an improvement", while continuing that "using translations is bad" thing. Eryops just ignores what I say, so what can I do?

I agree with you that we are, in fact, not a valid source of information, at the moment. But we are aiming for it. Just, me and Night have problems IRL that consume most of our time. I, for example, have an exams period and will be expelled if I won't deal with it. Everyone else just don't care about the wiki enough to make edits. You two, for example. You appeared here after being inactive for years. You dislike the change, yet you didn't vote, but feel the need to post in here. Will you edit the wiki? No, you'll just disappear back to wherever you came from.

    • >Gee its almost like you've created an echochamber where only thoughts you agree with are heard or else you attack the dissenting voice with conjecture that ignores their argument

This is what is having an opinion about something, and nobody has to agree with each other, and nobody can force another person to change their opinion. This is a discussion!

      >Oh yeah, please let's claim to be a valid source of information when all we do is whine that people hate us.

Oh yeah, please let's talk about us in first person plural, it looks so much like it's us talking and it's so mature. And why call it instantly "whining", but this time seriously?

      >While we haven't even updated the CF portions of characters

      You're free to do it!

      >nor have done proper research on why localization even exists.

Something about language localization from Wikipedia:

      • Language localization differs from translation activity because it involves a comprehensive study of the target culture in order to correctly adapt the product to local needs.
      • The localisation process is most generally related to the cultural adaptation and translation of software, video games and websites, as well as audio/voiceover, video or other multimedia content, and less frequently to any written translation (which may also involve cultural adaptation processes).

It tells me everything. I didn't know that something that means, for example, "Book of the Blue Blaze" is not culturally adequate for English-speaking people and had to be localized as "Azure Flamed Grimoire"!

      >And simply just adopt japanese terms because they sound better to "us"

No, we "simply" just "adopted" Japanese terms because this is how Mori called something and we want to stick to this meaning.

      >Ignoring the fact that changing things to a different term would cause problems with people who come here for a source of information.

I can imagine situation like this: someone is looking for an article about "seithr", types it into the search bar on the Wiki, and sees this term and clicks it. Oh no, it redirected me to "magic element"! Why? Oh! I get it, "magic element" is localized as "seithr", just as the article says at the beginning! It's the same thing, one translated, another localized!

Or maybe different situation? Here you go: someone is reading some article, and "Boundary Line of the Blue" appears. Hm, what's this? Let's click it. Oh! It's so-called "Azure Boundary"!

      >While at the same time call out people who try and say that what we're doing is wrong

In this situation there's no wrong or good choice. Localization is released officially, translation means exactly what the original says while the localization sometimes doesn't, and it's up to the people which version they prefer. And people decided to go with translations!

      >Jeez and you wonder why no one comes here?

Prove it. I'm reminding you that edits per day don't count in this.

      >Because the admins are hostile as possible, and so are the mods.

I'm not plural, same with Face Monster.

      >People can't even say something without being critically judged case and point is here.

People's opinions can be criticized and people can discuss it.

      >Especially when they have valid points

Good, but people decided much before what they prefer before this topic.

      >because the administration wants to change something to soothe their ego.

My ego is soothed enough and changes on some internet site, that basically is owned by Wikia, doesn't change anything in me.

    • I already explained how you should name images with your "original characters". Go read that answer again.

Unlike you, other people here are smart enough to realize that fan characters belong to fan wikis. We do not need special rules for fan characters simply because this is not a place for them.
