Divine Radiance: Murakumo

Information

A Nox Nyctores created by humanity specifically to combat the Sankishin. The Master Unit can't affect it, making it the only one that is not affected by causality.

As the Sealed Armament: Izayoi acted as a prototype for the Murakumo Unit, by extension it can also be considered a prototype of the Murakumo.

Originally, a Murakumo Unit was intended as an Zero-Weave Weapon, a part of a special type of a Prime Field Device, the Kusanagi. Similar to its prototype, it was meant to weave with the Prime Field Device and empower it. It's sealed sword form is called Lux Sanctus.

Later on, after the Dark War, the Murakumo Unit/Lux Sanctus was used in creating another special type of a Prime Field Device, that was a lesser form of the Kusanagi, the Murakumo. It was recognized as the 10th Nox Nyctores, Lux Sanctus: Murakumo.

Currently, there exist only one known Murakumo, Nu -No. 13-.

Mu -No. 12- was initially meant to become a Murakumo and after which turned into the Black Beast, but the experiment was interrupted. In the course of the BlazBlue: Continuum Shift, Noel Vermillion was turned into the Kusanagi.

Lambda -No. 11- became a true Murakumo with her own Lux Sanctus after being reborn in the Embryo.

Trivia

• "Murakumo" (叢雲) means "Gathering Clouds". It is derived from "Ama no Murakumo no Tsurugi" (天叢雲剣), "the Sword of the Gathering Clouds of Heaven". Ama no Murakumo is the original name for "Kusanagi no Tsurugi" (草薙剣).
• Just like with the other Nox Nyctores, the first part of its name is usually omitted, simply leaving "Murakumo".
• Just like some characters refer to Hakumen simply by his armor, Susano'o Unit, in the same fashion there are those that refer to the special Prime Field Device as the Murakumo Unit.
