Divine Radiance: Murakumo (神輝・ムラクモ Shinki: Murakumo, localized as Lux Sanctus: Murakumo) is an Arch-Enemy Event Weapon designed for the Murakumo Unit.

Information

An Arch-Enemy created by humanity specifically to combat the Sankishin. The Master Unit can't affect it, making it the only one that is not affected by causality.[1]

As the Sealed Armament: Izayoi acted as a prototype for the Murakumo Unit, by extension it can also be considered a prototype of the Murakumo.

Originally, a Murakumo Unit was intended as an Zero Weave Armament, a part of a special type of a Prime Field Contact, the Kusanagi. Similar to its prototype, it was meant to weave with the Prime Field Contact and empower it. Its sealed sword form is called Divine Radiance.

Later on, after the Great Dark War, the Murakumo Unit/Divine Radiance was used in creating another special type of a Prime Field Contact, that was a lesser form of the Kusanagi, the Murakumo. It was recognized as the 10th Arch-Enemy, Divine Radiance: Murakumo.

Currently, there exist only one known Murakumo, Nu -No. 13-.

Mu -No. 12- was initially meant to become a Murakumo and after which turned into the Black Beast, but the experiment was interrupted. In the course of the BlazBlue: Continuum Shift, Noel Vermillion was turned into the Kusanagi.

Lambda -No. 11- became a true Murakumo Unit with her own Divine Radiance after being reborn in the Embryo.

Trivia

  • "Murakumo" (叢雲) means "Gathering Clouds". It is derived from "Ama no Murakumo no Tsurugi" (天叢雲剣), "the Sword of the Gathering Clouds of Heaven". Ama no Murakumo is the original name for "Kusanagi no Tsurugi" (草薙剣).
  • Just like with the other Arch-Enemy, the first part of its name is usually omitted, simply leaving "Murakumo".
  • Just like some characters refer to Hakumen simply by his armor, Susanoo Unit, in the same fashion there are those that refer to the special Prime Field Contact as the Murakumo Unit.
