Gain Art (ゲインアート Gein Āto) is the name given to the phenomenon where a Union’s Crystal absorbs excessive amounts of magic element, causing its host to literally self-destruct.

Unlike succumbing to Phase 6 disintegration, the Crystal will vanish after a Gain Art event. Gain Arts are not a naturally-occurring phenomenon and are triggered by the deliberate manipulation or agitation of a Union’s Crystal.

In XBlaze – Code: Embryo, Sechs triggered Gain Arts by using his Drive on humans that were not suitable to host a Crystal and failed to become Unions. Their bodies had burnt marks, but there was no sight of fire around them.

Ragna the Bloodedge mentioned a Gain Art (増幅陣(ゲインアート) Gein Āto, Amplifier) when he witnessed Azrael release his limiter, Enchant Dragunov, in BlazBlue: Chronophantasma.

Izayoi uses her Drive to enter Gain Art mode, which increases her mobility and gives her more offensive options.
