Divine Radiance: Murakumo (神輝・ムラクモ Shinki: Murakumo, localized as Lux Sanctus: Murakumo) is an Arch-Enemy Event Weapon designed for Murakumo Units. It takes the form of a massive sword while on standby, but once activated, it turns into 8 floating blades surrounding the user, and their armor.

Originally, a Murakumo Unit was intended as a Zero Weave Armament, a part of a special type of a Dimensional Boundary Prime Field Contact, the Kusanagi. Similar to its prototype, it was meant to weave with the Prime Field Contact and empower it.

Murakumo was created after the Great Dark War by humanity specifically to combat the Sankishin. The Master Unit cannot affect it, making it the only one that is not affected by causality.[1] Later on, it was used in creating another special type of a Prime Field Contact, that was a lesser form of the Kusanagi, the Murakumo. It was recognized as the 10th Arch-Enemy, Divine Radiance: Murakumo.

Murakumo is wielded by the Murakumo Units, it means by Mu -No. 12- and Nu -No. 13-. Lambda -No. 11- seems to have her own Murakumo since being reborned in the Embryo.

As the Sealed Armament: Izayoi acted as a prototype for the Murakumo Unit, by extension it can also be considered a prototype of the Murakumo.

Trivia

  • "Murakumo" (叢雲) means "Gathering Clouds". It is derived from "Ama no Murakumo no Tsurugi" (天叢雲剣), "the Sword of the Gathering Clouds of Heaven". Ama no Murakumo is the original name for "Kusanagi no Tsurugi" (草薙剣).
