BlazBlue: Chronophantasma
I want to start off by saying that Blazblue was the one that got me excited for fighting games, and I bought Blazblue Continuum Shift Extend on the PS Vita hoping I could learn a thing or two...But, since I am a beginner, it was the first fighting game that I immediately dropped because I was frustrated and intimidated by its Challenge modes, strict combo timings and due to its large cast that I couldn't choose which character to play...Pathetic, I know. But, every beginner has a story like mine. When Arc Sys announced: BBCP and its final updated Extend edition, I was surprised how fast-paced the game became (faster than before), with its Overdrive mechanic and new moves, characters and etc....Needless to say, I wanted to give Blazblue another chance. I have some questions regarding Extend before downloading/purchasing:
1. Is the Challenge mode/Trials less intimidating on new players??? (I dunno if I am making any sense here...Currently fighting off a cold).
2. I heard that some combo executions are somewhat "easier" to pull off on some characters now, (i.e: Ragna) is this true?
3. I know that the game have some rather in-depth tutorial throughout all of Blazblue series, but is it easier to pick up and play?
I know the questions sound really beginner level, but I am just curious to know how much of the game is changed in terms of: accessibility compared to: Calamity Trigger and CS Extend, combo mechanics and etc...Once again, I apologize for my in-excusable scrubby manner.
Why Ragna lost his memory at the end of Chronophantasma? I did not understand this... =( And as this fact suceeded in CF? He can get his memory back?
PS: I do not mind spoilers
Thx! ^_^
Im a german guy who played BB since CT(CT was in german translate and CS i have watched the anime ger subs) until CPEX, the story in BBCPEX im not really understand it (because my english suck a bit) so is some german here would translate what important happend in CP and especially in CPEX, why in the ending ragna lost his memories?
Which game shows the moment Terumi kills Celica, Nine and Trinity? It has been shown that? Or was it just said so far? THX!
Now, I've played all 3 Blazblue games and have beaten them. I have not seen the anime yet, read the light novels, or the manga, or have not extensively researched much of the Blazblue information. However, I feel as if Noel and Ragna should be together, but I've read that Noel has Ragna's sisters' memories and that's why Noel has "brotherly" feelings towards Ragna at some points during the game. However, I also notice Noel actually blushing and hoping at times that Ragna asks her out on a date or something of that sort. So I just wanted to discuss, would Noel, having Ragna's little sister's memories really impact her chance of having an intimate relationship with Ragna? (IF they have one)
What happened to Jubei, it did't say if Jubei died or anything, so it's a bit confusing because seeing how it left off his battle before anyone could see how the fight ended.
This post is written to make clear matters of region-lock.
PlayStation 3 is region free - it doesn't mater where you bought the console, or where you buy your games, they will all be compatible. However, DLC is region-locked - for example, when you have Japanese release of game you will not be able to download DLC from your not-Asian account.
So, if you want to import JP release of Chronophantasma and you want DLC, you have to create Asian account.
I don't know if my information is 100% correct, but if something is not right, let me know it here and I'll change my post.
I already know that Gonzo did the cutscenes for Calamity Trigger, Studio DEEN for Continuum Shift, and Production IG for the Continuum Shift Extend opening animation, but which studio animated the cutscenes for Chrono Phantasma.
Okay, so hear me out here. I've been studying some of the color palettes in Chronophantasma and have gotten most of them figured out; however, I'm having a hard time pinpointing some of the "Shout-Out" color palettes (#13 palettes). So far, I've come across the following:
Ragna - Ichigo Kurosaki (Bleach)
Jin - Amaimon (Blue Exorcist)
Noel - Mami Tomoe (Madoka Magica)
Rachel - Ruri "Kuroneko" Gokou (Oreimo)
Taokaka - Felicia (Darkstalkers)
Carl/Ada - Lieselotte (Arcana Heart)
Litchi - ???
Arakune - ???
Tager - ???
Bang - Goku Son (Dragon Ball)
Nu-13 - Yuno Gasai (Mirai Nikki)
Hakumen - Berserker (Fate/Zero)
Hazama - ???
Tsubaki - Himari Takakura (Mawaru Penguindrum)
Mu-12 - Asuka Langley Soryu (Neon Genesis Evangelion)
Makoto - Zessica (Aquarion EVOL)
Valkenhayn - ???
Platinum - Madoka Kaname (Madoka Magica)
Relius/Ignis - ???
Amane - Inga (Un-Go)
Bullet - Motoko Kusanago (Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex)
Azrael - Kamina (Gurren Lagann)
Izayoi - ???
Kagura - ???
Terumi - ???
Kokonoe - ???
I have yet to figure out Litchi, Arakune, Tager, Hazama, Valkenhayn, Relius and Ignis, Izayoi, Kagura, and Terumi. As for Kokonoe, I leave that task up to someone else who already has her as DLC (at least until I can purchase it myself).
If anyone could please identify the rest of these Shout-Out color palettes, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you very much!
Dear all BlazBlue Chronophantasma players.
When I was reading the story line of Chronophantasma last moments, I've read that Ragna transformed into a black beast like. In the end, it was revealed that Tsubaki had arrive at this scene to find that Ragna disappeared with Izanami and seeing her best friend: Noel and her crush: Jin got injured. Was she shocked about that?
When I was reading Noel's page on this wikia, I saw it says "After Tsubaki becomes free from Izanami's grasp, Tsubaki apologizes to Jin, Noel and Makoto for what she had done to them." So does it mean that she turned back into good side? Also I saw her suit turns back into her regular colour http://blazblue.wikia.com/wiki/File:Chronophantasma_(Chronophantasma,_Story_Mode_Illustration,_26).png
P.S I am curious about that.
This has just been bugging me since I beat the game, and I was wondering if it was stated somewhere else
Well, they had to kill him off at some point, and if Ragna ever catches him again, he will be in the depths of Hades, acting like the psycho he is.
In the next game, I can see the following possibilities:
Rachel sacrifices herself to save Ragna from dying
In the Story Mode, Ragna is an enemy for awhile at the beginning due to him being in berserk state
Izanami has created foot soldiers (Mass-produced Murakumo Units maybe, with Nu-13 as their command unit) OR has used her ability to revive Terumi (I don't know if this is possible, but since she governs death, I think she can also make them not happen or something). Because right now, even though her and Phantom are extremely powerful, she is pretty much lacking powerful underlings, which were pretty much Terumi and Relius. I think Nu-13 counts too, but I am not too sure.
The true owner of Amaterasu is revealed (maybe?)
Amaterasu may have not had an owner at all, and it had a mind of its own.
Amaterasu becomes Ragna's power in the final battle(?) <== Just a possibility
The Good team all goes against the Mikado in all out of war - Coup
Nu-13 may have gone rogue after what happened at the end of CP (but since she changes back to her robotic Murakumo Unit mode after Ragna disappears, I would say that's highly unlikely and she could have gone back with Izanami, as she is known as Izanami no Tsurugi (The Sword of Izanagi), so in terms of programming protocol, she probably went back with the owner. Although I am not too sure if Terumi had programmed her to follow Izanami's command, and also the fact at the end of CP, Izanami only took Phantom and disappeared to where the Master Unit is. Nu was never mentioned.
Tons of the protagonists die during the final battle
After Izanami acknowledges her mistake, she uses her power to revive everyone who died during the battle. She then lets Saya become free. OR Due to Izanami getting heavily injured during the battle, Saya the vessel is critically injured where she dies.
Saya becomes saved by fusing with Noel and Nu-13 (I don't know if this is possible)
Ragna fuses with Nu-13 in a good way, which lets him awaken a new power which lets him subdue the Black Beast's power as his own (However such idea was already used in CS where Nu-13 in Lambda-11 transferred her powers to Ragna to help him, so if Arc System were to do this kind of thing, it would be pretty much a Deja Vu and an idea re-use, which would make the whole story disappointing. It would also feel too simple and cheap)
Ragna, Jin and Saya is revealed to be artificial humans (Well... considering that tattoo on Ragna, it is possible...)
Platinum is revealed to be alive (However the Trinity persona in her body has died)
Noel dies or sacrifices herself for something (She lived a good life compared to Nu-13, so... let's see her do some sacrificing =w=...) - But if the prediction about Izanami reviving the protagonists at the end for some reason does come true, then this becomes negated after.
At the end of the game, the Sankishin Units are all sealed away. Hakumen finds peace and he passes away after the Susano'o unit is sealed. OR his soul and memories could combine with Jin's.
The Blazblue/Azure Grimoire are all sealed away in the Boundary or somewhere untouchable and are never to be used again.
I was looking for some Concept Artworks in BlazBlue: Chronophantasma Material Collection and I noticed something.

Nu and Mu have Amane's crest in the background. Just an error or maybe it means something? Additionally, they have the same Astral Heat input (222D).
